Social Policy Leader

Job DescriptionThe Chief, Social Policy will play a critical role in shaping and implementing UNICEF's social policy agenda. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of social policy issues and a proven track record of developing and implementing effective policies and programs.
The job holder will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance on social policy issues to UNICEF staff, partners, and governments. They will also be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and private sector companies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics, public policy, or a related field, as well as significant experience working on social policy issues in a developing country context. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and guidance on social policy issues to UNICEF staff, partners, and governments;
- Develop and implement effective policies and programs to improve the lives of children;
- Build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and private sector companies;
- Conduct research and analysis on social policy issues and develop evidence-based recommendations;
- Represent UNICEF at national and international meetings and events.
To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Advanced university degree in economics, public policy, or a related field;
- At least ten years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a developing country context;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders;
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective policies and programs;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct research and analysis and develop evidence-based recommendations.
