Job Overview

The role of the DCC Clerk of Works Manager plays a pivotal part in overseeing construction inspections, ensuring that all development activities align with approved drawings, specifications, industry standards, and building codes.

This position demands strong leadership to guide an inspection team, maintain compliance, uphold safety regulations, and drive quality assurance across various project phases.

  • Lead the inspection team to ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Supervise workmanship, materials, and installations at all stages—substructure to finishes—resolving non-conformances and ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Manage key accounts, providing direct oversight and stakeholder engagement on sensitive or complex developments.
  • Apply expert knowledge of construction technology, materials, and methods to resolve site-level challenges and maintain construction integrity.

Construction Oversight

  • Oversee the full construction monitoring lifecycle—from site handover, construction, inspections, and snagging, through to occupation and post-occupancy evaluations.
  • Ensure smooth transitions between project phases, including pre-occupation compliance, defect rectification, and long-term performance monitoring.
  • Guide the team in maintaining continuity and accuracy in inspections and reporting throughout all project stages.

Safety Compliance & Regulatory Adherence

  • Enforce safety protocols across sites, conduct safety audits with the team, and collaborate with HSE personnel to uphold a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure full compliance with building codes, zoning laws, planning regulations, and local guidelines.
  • Stay current with regulatory changes and ensure the inspection team is updated and trained accordingly.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of Clerks of Works, ensuring consistency, professionalism, and adherence to best practices.
  • Coordinate inspection scheduling, resource allocation, and reporting workflows to optimize performance and communication.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Review and compile detailed inspection reports, test results, and project updates for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, regularly updating procedures based on lessons learned, site feedback, and industry advancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Building Technology, or a related field.
  • Masters degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in construction supervision, quality assurance, and site-based inspection, preferably on mixed-use developments (commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure).
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring construction teams, with a strong track record in lifecycle construction oversight — from site handover to post-occupancy.
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, planning regulations, and construction technologies relevant to vertical and horizontal developments.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple active project sites without compromising on detail or quality.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, reporting, and coordination.
