Foreign Exchange Trader
We are seeking a skilled Foreign Exchange Trader to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for executing trades and managing client orders with the utmost professionalism.
This role involves maintaining market integrity and adhering to best execution standards, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in Kenya. You will work closely with internal risk and compliance functions to uphold transparency and investor protection.
Responsibilities:- Act with honesty and fairness in all transactions, prioritizing client interests and market integrity.
- Establish and maintain robust controls to mitigate risks associated with online foreign exchange trading.
- Ensure the proper segregation of client funds from company assets.
- Provide clear and concise risk disclosure to clients before engaging in trades.
- Comply with reporting and record-keeping obligations under relevant regulations.
- Implement anti-money laundering policies consistent with applicable laws.
- Utilize approved trading platforms with capabilities for audit trails and data integrity.
- Maintain adequately trained personnel to manage and supervise trading activities.
- Must have prior approval for any license by a financial sector regulator and be willing to undergo this process with our organization to register with the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and pass the Fit and Proper assessment by the CMA.
- A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, law, accounting, or a related field is required.
- At least three years of experience in foreign exchange trading, demonstrating ability to perform effectively.
- Certification from the Association Cambiste Internationale-Financial Markets Association or its equivalent (ACI) such as Chartered Financial Analyst is mandatory.
- Recent experience in retail financial services (ideally brokerage) in Kenya, along with strong working knowledge of Kenyan financial services regulations and requirements, is necessary.
- No history of fraudulent financial dealings or regulatory breaches can be tolerated.
- A solid understanding of corporate governance, financials, and risk management is essential.
- Strong leadership skills are required to excel in this role.
- The ability to handle complex issues, projects, and processes is crucial.
- Demonstrate strong moral and ethical principles, accept accountability, and show initiative and effective cooperation.
- A strong sense of financial integrity, responsibility, and the ability to carry out regulated activities competently, honestly, and fairly is vital.
