Internal Audit Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Audit Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes within the organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auditing and risk management, with experience in conducting audits and identifying operational risks. They will also have excellent analytical skills and be able to provide recommendations for process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the adequacy of internal audit function and ensure it has the necessary authority to carry out its work.
  • Conduct audits of financial systems and internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Identify and assess financial and operational risks, recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate and review the internal audit program and results of the internal audit process.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Risk Management.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in internal audit, risk management, or compliance.
  • Familiarity with Capital Markets (Corporate Governance) Regulations, 2011, and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) laws.
  • Must be a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
  • Must be a qualified auditor to audit the books of accounts or investigate any affairs of an online foreign exchange broker.
