SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Jotun Kenya is looking for a proactive and results- oriented Accountant to join our Finance function.The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our financial operations by accurately preparing and executing accounting tasks, ensuring timely processing of book entries and, generating essential reports and information in line with internal and external compliance requirements. This position requires a strong commitment to ensuring that accurate and reliable financial data is available when needed to support decision-making.
This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya and reports to the Finance Manager.
Responsibilities:
Support the Finance Manager by verifying and analyzing financial data and providing relevant reports as required.
Support the finance team by coordinating relevant schedules related to financial reporting to generate accurate reports and data.
Assist the Finance Manager in preparing and maintaining a sustainable financial reporting process with an analysis of key financial information in order to support management in making well-informed decisions.
Support the implementation of new tools and techniques to improve the financial reporting routines.
Use various accounting software such as SAP or IFS, and other data sources to consolidate data for analysis and reporting to create financial reports regularly and on demand.
Perform analysis on business- and financial data as requested, regularly and ad-hoc.
Perform assigned tasks as required across the Finance function (e.g., support in credit control, etc.)

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor or Commerce Accounting or Finance degree.
- CPA (Part II or higher) qualification.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an account's assistant role in a busy environment or 1-2 years audit experience.
- Proven understanding and experience with financial audits or internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software / ERP such as SAP or IFS.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and Kenyan tax laws.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be currently residing and legally authorized to work in Kenya.
