Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Payable Accountant based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Payable Accountant will handle accounts payable processes, manage financial records, prepare payment analyses, liaise with vendors and suppliers, and ensure that all transactions comply with financial regulations. Key responsibilities include preparing payment schedules, reconciling financial discrepancies, maintaining accurate and organized records, and assisting in auditing processes.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in financial accounting, accounts payable management, and ledger reconciliation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for record-keeping, documentation, and financial analysis
  • Ability to work with accounting software and tools
  • Knowledge of financial regulations, auditing, and tax compliance practices
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills to liaise with vendors and team members
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional certification in accounting (such as CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage
  • Prior experience in similar roles within the engineering or contracting sectors is beneficial
