About Flowt:

Flowt is building the business loans marketplace for Africa, leveraging AI-powered, data-driven lending decisions. We use AI for real-time analysis of finances, rapid due diligence, and pre-approvals for lenders. Businesses connect their accounting software through an API for an AI-powered assessment of their books including red flags from a lender's perspective, customized tips on how to improve, and analysis of what size loan they can afford. Thereafter, our AI-driven risk assessment engine rapidly conducts due diligence including financial intelligence, leadership team assessment, and reputational risk checks, resulting in a detailed investment memo and lender matchmaking, to help the company secure multiple offers. In the early days, we will also lend to select companies on our balance sheet, to prove the model and build the dataset needed to onboard traditional  financial institutions. 

The Opportunity:

African businesses face a critical financing gap which keeps them from scaling - traditional lenders require 6-9+ months for due diligence while charging high interest rates. Our mission is to improve access to finance for the entrepreneurial companies which create jobs and advance African economies.

What You'd Build:

As Co-Founder & CTO, you'll own the complete technical vision including: 

  • Building AI-powered risk assessment systems and automated financial data analysis
  • Developing comprehensive loan management with integrated banking APIs through partnerships with local banks
  • Scaling across multiple African markets with web-first design, starting in Kenya, with expansion to Nigeria on the horizon

What We're Looking For

  1. 7+ years supervising full-stack software development
  2. Experience with AI/ML integration, modern web frameworks & cloud services (AWS)
  3. Entrepreneurial mindset with experience on the leadership team of a startup 
  4. Passion for solving problems in emerging markets
  5. Preferred but not required: fintech/banking experience in African markets
