Business Development Lead

The Business Development Lead (Engineering) is responsible for spearheading market expansion and increasing sales volume for engineering services and solutions. This individual will be the primary driver of the sales pipeline, focusing on identifying new clients, building strategic relationships, and developing tailored technical proposals. The role involves acting as the liaison between the customer's technical requirements and the solutions engineer and the technical support teams.
Responsibilities
Market Strategy & Opportunity Identification: Define and execute the go to market strategy for engineering based solutions in manufacturing and related sectors , Performing market research, competitive analysis and industry trend to identify growth opportunities.
Solution Development & Technical Offering Design: Collaborate with solution engineers to design, define and customise technical solutions that align with customer needs and translate customer requirements into feasible engineering solutions including scope, cost, value proposition, and execution plan.
Lead Generation & Client Acquisition: Build and manage a pipeline of prospects i.e generate leads, identify decision makers, engage to convert opportunities and drive direct outreach, networking at trade events, partnerships and referrals to establish engagements.
Business Proposal Development: Develop business proposals covering technical scope, solution architecture, ROI pricing and implementation roadmap. Negotiate contracts and ensure that deal structure aligns with company profitability, risk management and deliverability
Account Management & Growth of Strategic Clients : Manage strategic accounts to secure repeat business, cross selling/upselling, Technical Support contracts and long-term partnerships. Monitor customer satisfaction, capture recurring or extension opportunities, and drive upselling of engineering solutions.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical/Telecommunication) or a related technical field. ● Experience in Technical sales in a consulting or managed services environment is an added advantage.
● Minimum of 2 years' experience in business development/sales.
● Proven experience in managing key accounts and achieving revenue targets.
● Strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
● In-depth knowledge of the Kenyan and the region market and industry trends.
