Role Description

This is a volunteer and remote role for a Legal Counsel in Kenya. The Legal Counsel will provide expert legal advice to the organization, review and draft legal documents, and support contract negotiation processes. Responsibilities also include offering guidance on legal matters, identifying legal risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and assisting in dispute resolution if necessary. Collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders will also form a key part of this role.

Women Workplace Protection program

professional legal representation

against employers when justified.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Law and in-depth knowledge of legal systems, particularly in Kenya
  • Litigation
  • Proficiency in Contract Negotiation and the ability to reach favorable agreements
  • Experience in Legal Document Preparation and handling a variety of legal contracts
  • Ability to analyze and resolve Legal Issues effectively
  • Capability to provide sound Legal Advice and counsel on complex matters
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with stakeholders
  • Experience in international or non-profit organizations is a plus
  • Law degree and relevant legal certifications required
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote capacity
