Role purpose

About the job

Event manager for all Beneath the Baobabs events, including, but not limited to, Beneath the Baobabs Festival, Between the Baobabs, BTB Live and Kisima Festival. As the Event manager you will work closely with other members of the Beneath the Baobabs management team to plan and execute festivals and events. You will be involved in the general and live management of the production office and various other departments. 

Responsibilities

• General event management and coordination of festival activities and events.
• Email Management and guest relations - ensuring guests have a positive experience
• Production Office management - setting up and supervising the smooth running of the office and various departments.
• Human resource support - Staffing for Gate, Top up Stations, and other management personnel.
• Roster Management for different departments.
• On-Site Event Support - logistical and operational support during the festivals and events.
• Strategy and problem solving for continuous growth and organization development.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in Event Management or a related field
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in Kiswahili and English
• Proficient in Google Drive (Docs, Forms and Sheets) and email software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Have a flexible and positive approach to work.
• A genuine interest in Events and event management.
• A degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field is a bonus, but not a requirement.

Work schedule

• Full-time on-site;
  duty manager support on rota
  for major events/evenings (as needed).

Compensation

From 1st December th January 2026

Breakfast & Lunch offered on site

Meals during BTB Festival shifts

Stipend of 50,000 kes for the duration of the contract
