Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Accountant to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis at our Nairobi office. The Accountant will handle day-to-day financial operations including payroll processing, accounts receivable and payable management, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The role also involves financial analysis, budgeting, and cost control to support the company's growth.

The starting salary is 36,000 Ksh Gross.

Qualifications Knowledge and Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Must be a holder of CPA 3 and above
  • Must have 2 years and above working experience in a busy setting
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with Kenyan tax regulations and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Good organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping: Record all transactions (sales, refunds, expenses) ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports for business insights and compliance.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage VAT, eTIMS invoicing, income tax, and PAYE filings.
  • Payroll Management: Process employee salaries, deductions and statutory remittances.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Create budgets for inventory, marketing, and operations; forecast revenue based on sales trends.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor inflows and outflows to maintain liquidity.
  • Inventory Accounting: Coordinate with the supply chain team to track cost of goods sold, manage stock valuation, and reconcile inventory with sales data.
  • Accounts Reconciliation: Verify bank statements, payment gateway accounts (e.g.Pesapal, Mpesa Tilll), and petty cash for accuracy.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze profitability, identify cost-saving opportunities, and advise on pricing.
  • Audit Preparation: Maintain records for internal or external audits, ensuring compliance financial regulations.
  • Vendor Payments: Handle supplier invoices, negotiate terms, and ensure timely payments to avoid disruptions.
