Background:

Our company is seeking to hire a Logistics Officer to join our team. The Logistics Officer will be responsible for coordinating and managing the logistics activities of the company, including procurement, transportation, inventory management, and distribution. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement logistics plans and procedures to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods and services

Source and procure goods and services from suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships

Coordinate transportation activities, including booking and tracking shipments, arranging customs clearance, and managing freight forwarders and carriers

Monitor and maintain inventory levels and ensure accuracy of inventory records

Plan and execute distribution activities to meet customer demand, including managing warehouse operations and order fulfillment processes

Ensure compliance with regulations and standards related to logistics and transportation, including safety and environmental requirements

Analyze logistics data and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings

Manage logistics budget and prepare reports on logistics activities and performance

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field

Proven experience as a logistics officer or in a similar logistics role

Knowledge of logistics processes, regulations, and standards

Proficient in logistics software and systems, including transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS)

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Duration:

This is a full-time position with a probationary period of three months. The contract can be renewed upon successful completion of the probationary period.

Location:

The Logistics Officer will be based in our company headquarters located in Nairobi.

Reporting:

The Logistics Officer will report directly to the National coordinator and work closely with other Program team members.

Remuneration:

The salary for this position will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
