Role Summary

The Business Analyst (BA) will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and IT delivery teams to analyse, document, and optimise business processes and translate business requirements into clear, actionable functional and non-functional specifications. The role requires strong experience in IT-enabled process analysis, requirements elicitation, and supporting technology-driven change initiatives.

The Business Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring business objectives are accurately reflected in system design, solution delivery, and operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Business Process Analysis


• Analyse current-state ("as-is") business processes across operational, digital, and technology domains


• Identify process inefficiencies, risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimisation or automation


• Design and document future-state ("to-be") processes aligned with business strategy and IT architecture


• Facilitate process mapping workshops using recognised frameworks (e.g. BPMN, SIPOC, value streams)

Requirements Elicitation & Documentation


• Elicit, analyse, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements


• Translate business needs into clear documentation including:


• Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)


• Functional Specifications


• User Stories and Acceptance Criteria


• Ensure requirements are traceable throughout the delivery lifecycle

Stakeholder Engagement


• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams


• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with cross-functional teams


• Manage stakeholder expectations and support prioritisation decisions


• Communicate complex technical concepts in business-friendly language

IT & Solution Support


• Collaborate with architects, developers, testers, and vendors to ensure solutions meet business intent


• Support solution design reviews to ensure alignment with documented requirements


• Assist with UAT planning, execution, and defect triage


• Support change management and transition to operations where required

Continuous Improvement & Governance


• Contribute to BA standards, templates, and best practices


• Ensure documentation complies with organisational and regulatory standards


• Support process improvement, digital transformation, and automation initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

Essential


• 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst in IT-enabled environments


• Strong experience analysing and documenting business processes


• Proven ability to work across both business and technical stakeholders


• Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies


• Strong documentation skills (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process diagrams)


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Technical & Tooling Experience (Desirable)


• Process modelling tools (e.g. Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, Signavio)


• Agile tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)


• Experience with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, digital platforms, data platforms)


• Exposure to automation, integration, or data-driven solutions
