Job Description:

Position: Farm Manager
Location: Kilifi,

Our client is an established dairy farming with over 50 dairy animals in the outskirt of Kilifi. They are looking to hire a qualified and experienced farm manager with diverse knowledge in dairy farming.

Duties and Responsibilities

a) Experience in handling livestock on-farm which comprises various dairy cows breeds

b) Implement strategies for maximum yield, organize farm administration and manage businesses and farm staff.

c) Plan finances and production to maintain farm progress against budget parameters.

d)Maintain and monitor the quality and quantity of yields.

e) Monitor animal health and welfare, including liaising with Government vets.

f) Knowledge of parasites and diseases and understanding how they spread and how to combat them.

g) Apply health and safety standards across the farm.

h)Liaising with the marketing and sale team.

i)Visiting different divisions to inspect livestocks

j) Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other supplies are regularly restocked.

k) Do Artificial insemination

l) Management of fodder feeds stocks and making requisition if any and timely

m) Fodder production and preservation

n) And any other duties assigned to by the management

Requirements

Diploma in animal science or husbandry or Bachelors Degree / HND in Agriculture Science, Animal Science or extensive experience in managing a farm.

3 5 years work experience.

A passion for agriculture and looking after dairy animals

Excellent problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Willingness to work overtime as required.

Extensive experience in managing a farm.

Self-motivated and excellent budgeting skills
