Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and technically curious Business Applications Analyst to join our Business Applications team. This role is designed for professionals eager to build hands-on experience in business systems, SaaS application optimization, and technology-enabled process improvement.

As a Business Applications Analyst, you will play a critical support role in analyzing business processes, enhancing SaaS application usage, and contributing to the successful delivery of cross-functional initiatives. You'll collaborate closely with senior team members to support both technical and business solution efforts across the organization—bridging the gap between users, systems, and innovation.

This is a high-growth opportunity for someone who thrives on learning, takes initiative, and is excited by the challenge of solving complex business problems with technology. The role is structured to provide exposure and development pathways for advancement into more specialized and senior roles.

Responsibilities:

SaaS Application & Process Analysis:

  • Develop a working knowledge of business processes across key functions and how they are supported by SaaS applications.
  • Assist in mapping, analyzing, and documenting workflows, identifying pain points and opportunities for optimization.
  • Contribute to process enhancements that improve usability, efficiency, and system alignment with business objectives.

Configuration & Application Support:

  • Support the configuration and operational management of core SaaS applications such as Salesforce, NetSuite, BambooHR, and Zendesk.
  • Apply system best practices to ensure accurate setup, data integrity, and user experience.
  • Assist in troubleshooting user issues, escalating where appropriate, and ensuring timely resolution through collaboration with vendors or internal teams.

Automation & Integration Support:

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of low-code/no-code automation using tools such as Zapier, Make, or native platform features.
  • Support development of simple integrations and workflows using APIs and basic scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, PowerShell) under senior guidance.
  • Assist in testing and monitoring automated processes to ensure reliability and effectiveness.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Extract, clean, and manipulate data from SaaS platforms to support reporting and business insights.
  • Build and maintain reports or dashboards that inform key stakeholders on system usage, performance, and process metrics.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Participate in cross-departmental meetings to understand business requirements and support delivery of solutions.
  • Translate business feedback into actionable system or process improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure solution alignment and user adoption.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:

  • Maintain accurate documentation for application configurations, workflows, SOPs, and support processes.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge bases to promote effective self-service and enablement across teams.

Learning & Continuous Development:

  • Stay informed on emerging SaaS tools, integration approaches, and automation practices relevant to business applications.
  • Actively participate in training, mentoring, and on-the-job learning opportunities to strengthen technical and business acumen.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.

Experience:

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in business systems, IT support, operations, or technology-driven roles.
  • Exposure to SaaS platforms, automation tools, APIs, or data analysis through professional work or academic projects.

Technical Skills:

  • Foundational knowledge of enterprise-grade SaaS platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS, Helpdesk).
  • Exposure to APIs and automation concepts, including guided experience with basic system integrations.
  • Experience with spreadsheets and data tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets) including pivot tables and formulas.
  • Familiarity with tools like Zapier, Make, or native platform automation builders.
  • Basic understanding of scripting (e.g., JavaScript, Python, or Google App Scripts) is preferred. Hands-on experience with these scripting languages is a plus.
  • General awareness of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and data access concepts is a plus.

Other Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive approach to learning new tools and technologies.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Basic project management skills to plan and execute both business and technical tasks effectively.
  • Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines and prioritize competing demands.
  • Commitment to the quality, performance, and reliability of technical implementations.
  • Willingness to explore innovative approaches to solving technical and operational challenges.
  • Eagerness to stay current with industry trends and continuously develop technical and business acumen.
  • Adaptable and resilient in the face of evolving technologies and shifting priorities.
