About the Role

The role holder will be responsible for tracking cash flow and payments to vendors and suppliers. They play a critical role in a company's financial, administrative, and clerical functions, and their work helps a company meet profitability goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the accurate and timely booking of invoices, credit notes and supplier payments.

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of the supplier accounts, document any reconciling differences and ensure resolution within 30days

  • Timely preparation of supplier's payments as per the payment plans

  • Process all relevant tax returns and statutory payments accurately and on time

  • Management and monthly reconciliation of VAT 3 including follow-ups on pending VAT claims

  • Ensure proper accounting and recording of accounts payable transactions in the general ledger, in accordance with the accounting standards.

  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts monthly

  • Prepare monthly accounts payable (AP) reports

  • Implement and maintain proper controls within the accounts payable function to safeguard company resources

  • Maintain effective communication and a positive relationship with the suppliers

  • Facilitate annual audits related to the accounts payable function

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Business related undergraduate degree.

    • Accounting qualification, CPA Finalist

    • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite, particularly Excel.

    • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

    • Strong time management skills

    • Knowledge of accounting standards and taxation regulations

    • At least 3-year professional experience in a similar position
