The company was established in the year 1982 by the Al Fateem Group based in Dubai, later acquired by Kenyan investors in 1988. Kenya Orient Insurance came into existence in 2004, following a change in ownership from the previous proprietors to the current shareholders. Over the years, we have experienced consistent growth, emerging as a prominent player in the industry.


PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The position entails the following responsibilities:
  • Acquiring new business for deposit administration schemes, individual pension plans, umbrella pension schemes, annuity business, group life business, and group last expense as per the specified targets.
  • Maintaining existing business through timely service delivery, exploring new approaches for market expansion, engaging with individuals, corporates, and large clients, driving new product initiatives, and conducting competitor analysis.

KEY TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Offering fund administration guidance and services to clients in adherence to the regulations set by the Retirement Benefits Authority.
  • Achieving set business development and growth targets in sales, new business acquisition, renewals, and premium income through well-coordinated marketing strategies.
  • Expanding the business's revenue through new distribution channels and client referrals.
  • Providing accurate and competitive quotations for pensions, annuity, group life, and group last expense products promptly to potential clients, brokers, and intermediaries.
  • Identifying market prospects and suggesting targeted value-based product offerings for specific market segments.
  • Building a pipeline and securing pension and group life business.
  • Establishing and nurturing new intermediary relationships and partnerships.
  • Assessing new business needs and documentation for contractual agreements and subsequent policy issuance.
  • Validating all submitted proposal forms for accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Conducting product knowledge training for the sales team in collaboration with agency leaders.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related field or equivalent qualification from an accredited university.
  • Diploma in Pensions/CII/AIK would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the insurance sector or a related marketing domain.
