Around the world, Teach For All network partners are developing leadership in classrooms and communities to ensure all children can achieve their full potential.

The Head of Region role presents a rare opportunity for an individual with exceptional leadership, strategic, and interpersonal skills to make a significant impact on the mission of fostering collective leadership to ensure all children can fulfill their potential and to shape the educational landscape in the region.

The ideal candidate should excel at creating a clear vision and strategic direction, cultivating a positive culture, driving results through others, and building strong relationships.

This position requires extensive experience living and working in the region, as well as a deep dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This role directly reports to Teach For All's Chief Executive Officer.

Responsibilities of the Head of Region include:

Regional Vision and Strategy:

  • Collaborate with the CEO, regional team, and partner CEOs to devise and execute a strategy for advancing Teach For All's global priorities in the region.

Growth and Impact:

  • Identify partner needs and determine optimal strategies to leverage network resources for addressing regional challenges.
  • Surface and amplify innovative practices and ideas within the region for broader implementation.
  • Support network partners in local fundraising efforts and enhance governance structures.

Interconnected Learning Network:

  • Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment across the continent.
  • Facilitate learning and leadership development opportunities for network members.

External Engagement:

  • Develop a strategy to establish a strong presence in Africa and expand funding sources.
  • Forge partnerships with regional organizations to enhance impact.
  • Represent Teach For All externally and seek new funding opportunities.

Team Leadership:

  • Coach and lead regional staff for high performance and effective resource allocation.
  • Contribute to Teach For All's global strategy and culture.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in senior leadership roles with a focus on team management and mobilization.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in crafting and implementing strategies in education and social entrepreneurship.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with various stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding and experience in the African region.
  • Track record in fundraising and resource development from diverse sources.
  • Deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Analytical abilities and focus on continuous learning.
