JOB SUMMARY

As an Inventory Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the inventory operations with a focus on cost accounting, meticulous stock-taking, and efficient reporting of dispatch and receipt of goods. The role will also require effective communication skills to coordinate with different teams and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor and control inventory costs through accurate recording, tracking, and analysis of inventory movements.Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.Conduct regular physical inventory counts to reconcile physical stock levels with system records.Implement cycle counting procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and minimize discrepancies.Optimize inventory levels to meet production requirements while minimizing carrying costs and stock-outs.Coordinate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure adequate stock availability.Generate timely and accurate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and variances.Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.Prepare insightful reports for management review.Oversee the dispatch and receiving process to ensure timely and accurate handling of goods.Coordinate with logistics partners to schedule shipments, track deliveries, and resolve any issues or delays.Continuously identify opportunities to streamline inventory processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to optimize inventory control operations.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance Option), Business Management, SupplyChain Management, Economics, or a relevant field.Qualified Accountant (CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent) would be a plus.At least 3 years' relevant experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory valuation methods.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and stock-taking.Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Good understanding of supply chain procedures.Working knowledge of internal controls – specifically at manufacturing site level.
