Context and overview The International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) in Nairobi, Kenya, is an institution dedicated to providing training, research, and education in peace support operations. In 2011, it was expanded and designated as an autonomous regional training center mandated to carry out capacity building in peace support operations for the benefit of military, police, and civilian personnel from the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), other African countries and the rest of the world. As such, IPSTC offers various courses and programs aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of peace operations personnel in responding to complex emergencies.
