About the Role

">

We are seeking an experienced Programme Management Officer to join our team in the Management, Advisory, and Compliance Service (MACS) of UN-Habitat. This position will be responsible for providing strategic support to programme implementation, ensuring effective management of financial and administrative resources, and coordinating with donor representatives, project staff, and other partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Programme Implementation:">
  •   Provide inputs on administrative and procedural issues related to programme/project and budget formulation, implementation, monitoring, and reporting;">
  •   Participate in periodic reviews of thematic and geographical priorities of substantive sections;">
  •   Coordinate with donor representatives, project staff, and other partners on financial and administrative matters related to programme and project development;">
  •   Draft agreements with partners as part of the support provided to programmes;">
  •   Administer implementing partners, including planning, budgeting, selection, capacity assessments, review of agreements of cooperation, reporting, performance evaluation, monitoring the implementation audit observations, and closing;">
  •   Contribute to the development of policies, guidelines, operating procedures, and systems to improve business processes for programme and project delivery;">

  • Human Resource Management:">
  •   Effectively coordinate actions relative to the administration of human resource activities, such as recruitment, placement, promotion, performance appraisal, job classification reviews, separation of staff members, training, and other related areas, ensuring consistency in the application of UN rules and procedures;">
  •   Define conditions of service, duties, responsibilities, privileges, and entitlements under the Staff Rules and Regulations.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in administration, finance, accounting, or human resources management, with at least five years of progressively responsible experience. You should also possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
