We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Regional Contract Specialist to join our team in Eastern Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal support to the business, focusing on Logistics & Services (L&S) contracts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of international commercial law and regional legal frameworks, with a proven track record of managing complex contracts and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, negotiate, and amend customer and supplier contracts relating to L&S services.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks, providing commercially sound and pragmatic advice.

  • Ensure timely contract reviews and manage obligations throughout the contract lifecycle.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including commercial, procurement, and product teams.

  • Support contract governance and ensure consistency with global legal standards.

  • Deliver training to internal stakeholders on legal principles and contracting best practices.

  • Contribute to global and regional initiatives, monitoring relevant legal developments in the region and conducting legal research to inform business decisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB); Master's degree is a plus.

  • Admitted to practice law in a jurisdiction within the Eastern Africa region.

  • Minimum of 6 years legal experience, preferably in an international organization or reputable law firm (or both).

  • Strong negotiation skills, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple demands at the same time.

  • Proficiency in English.
