Introduction
As a Data Analyst specializing in digital safety advocacy, you will play a crucial role in identifying and analyzing digital threats targeting young people. Your primary responsibility will be to compile comprehensive information and insights that will empower our communications strategist to develop effective communication strategies for public awareness and advocacy. Together, we aim to foster a safe and secure digital environment for the youth.
Key Responsibilities
Threat Identification:
Monitor digital platforms, social media channels, and online communities to identify emerging threats and trends affecting young people's digital safety.
Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, online predators, cyberbullying tactics, and other digital risks prevalent among youth demographics.
Research And Analysis
Conduct in-depth research and analysis on digital threats, including but not limited to phishing scams, malicious software, online grooming, and data privacy breaches.
Utilize various research methodologies and tools to gather relevant data and insights on digital safety issues.
Information Compilation
Compile and organize research findings, statistical data, case studies, and expert opinions into clear and concise reports for dissemination and public consumption.
Create comprehensive summaries and presentations that highlight key digital safety threats and their potential impact on young people.
Collaboration With Communications Strategist
Work closely with the communications strategist to translate research findings into actionable communication strategies.
Provide timely updates and insights to support the development of targeted campaigns, public awareness initiatives, and advocacy efforts aimed at promoting digital safety for youth.
Partnership And Networking
Build relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, industry experts, and community organizations, to exchange information and collaborate on digital safety initiatives.
Qualifications And Skills
Proven experience in digital research, cybersecurity analysis, digital analysis or related fields, with a focus on youth demographics preferred.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify meaningful insights.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information in a clear and accessible manner.
Familiarity with digital communication platforms, social media trends, and online behavior patterns among young people.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a commitment to promoting digital safety and protecting youth online.
A bachelor degree relevant for the position is highly is an added advantage
