VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT HEAD OF SCHOOL
A leading Christian private school in Nairobi offering Kindergarten, Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), Cambridge International (CI) up to IGCSE Year 12, and preparing to roll out the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Head of School.

ROLE SUMMARY
The Head of School will provide overall strategic, instructional, operational, and spiritual
leadership across all sections (KG, CBC, Cambridge International, and IB preparatory). The ideal candidate is a transformational, student-centered leader with proven capacity to harmonize multi-curricular pathways and drive Christ-centered excellence, inclusion, innovation, and holistic growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Strategic & Christian Leadership
- Champion the school's
Christian philosophy
, mission, and long-term strategic direction. - Lead spiritual formation programmes for staff and students, ensuring alignment to Christian values.
B. Academic & Curriculum Leadership
- Provide instructional leadership across
CBC

Cambridge Primary
,
Lower & Upper Secondary
,
IGCSE
, and
IB readiness
. - Oversee curriculum implementation, review, and alignment with
MoE
,
TSC
,
KICD
,
Cambridge
, and
IB
standards. - Promote evidence-based, data-driven instruction and continuous assessment.
- Lead school-wide quality assurance, benchmarking, accreditation, and continuous improvement.
C. Staff Leadership & Development
- Mentor, supervise, and professionally develop academic and support staff.
- Drive a culture of accountability, performance management, and collaborative team development.
- Lead recruitment, deployment, and teacher appraisal processes in line with TSC and school policies.
D. Student Welfare, Discipline & Safeguarding
- Ensure strong behaviour management systems, pastoral care frameworks, and holistic well-being.
- Oversee implementation of Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies, ensuring compliance with Kenyan law and global best practice.
- Promote inclusive education and support systems for students with diverse learning needs.
E. Operations, Finance & Administration
- Oversee budgeting, financial stewardship, procurement, and resource optimization.
- Supervise school operations including transport, safety, facilities, ICT integration, and risk management.
- Lead admissions, marketing, and stakeholder communication to support sustainable enrolment growth.
F. Stakeholder Engagement
- Strengthen parent relations, handle escalated concerns professionally, and ensure transparent communication.
- Build strong partnerships with regulators, accreditation bodies, churches, donors, and the broader community.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree in education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum Studies, Administration, or related field (PhD/EdD an added advantage).
- 15+ years teaching experience across local and/or international curricula.
- At least 5 years senior leadership experience (Deputy Head, Principal, Director of Studies, etc.) in a reputable private or international school.
- Demonstrated experience in CBC, Cambridge International, and IB frameworks (IB training/exposure is a strong advantage).
- Must meet Teachers Service Commission (TSC) requirements for registration and teaching qualification.
- Strong experience in curriculum design, assessment systems, school improvement, and accreditation processes.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams, manage change, and implement digital learning solutions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to Christian values and pastoral leadership.

COMPLIANCE & SAFEGUARDING REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will be required to provide:
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct (DCI).
- TSC registration.
- At least three professional referees, including a church or spiritual leader.
- Clearance certificates from: KRA and HELB
- Must commit to the school's Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy.
