Full-Time, office based, senior role

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounting cycle in compliance with national tax regulations and financial reporting standards

  • Process payroll accurately and on time

  • Monitor and manage tax accruals, including salaries, PAYE, WHT, profit tax, VAT, excise duty

  • Ensure compliance with financial legislation applicable to regulated microfinance institutions

  • Prepare and submit annual reports, audit reports, and regulatory financial statements

  • Apply tax optimization strategies with supporting documentation and case studies

  • Collaborate with operational teams, especially in credit, to ensure accurate interest calculations and reporting

  • Oversee and refine accounting processes for a pulp and paper mill if applicable

  • Maintain responsibility for the integrity, transparency, and timeliness of financial data

  • Work under pressure with a calm, focused, and solution-oriented mindset

  • Continuously seek ways to improve financial systems to be both effective and aesthetically clear

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven accounting experience in microfinance

  • Strong knowledge of accounting and taxation, with finance background as a plus

  • Experience working with credit institutions, including understanding of interest calculation principles

  • Hands-on payroll processing experience

  • In-depth knowledge of the tax code as it relates to regulated financial institutions

  • Strong background in financial reporting and audit preparation

  • Demonstrated ability in tax optimization, with real-world application examples

  • Experience in the pulp and paper industry is a significant advantage

  • High sense of responsibility and accountability

  • A desire to make things beautiful and effective — both visually and systematically

  • Strong stress resistance and ability to work under pressure

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred

  • At least 4 years of proven experience in accounting, with specific experience in microfinance

  • Strong knowledge of local tax codes and financial regulations, especially for financial institutions

  • Familiarity with interest calculation, credit operations, and reporting standards

  • Experience in financial reporting, payroll, and regulatory compliance

  • Proficiency in accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, etc.)

  • Demonstrated success in tax planning/optimization

  • Experience working with or reporting for pulp and paper manufacturing operations is a strong advantage
