Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Head of Finance based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies. They will lead a finance team, monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities, manage risks and drive efficiency in financial processes. Additional duties will include preparing detailed financial reports, guiding key investment decisions, and developing strategies to enhance the financial health of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Strong financial management and oversight skills, including expertise in budgeting, auditing, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, risk assessment, and investment planning to support organizational goals.
  • Leadership and team management capabilities to oversee finance teams and ensure effective collaboration.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and compliance with financial regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Experience with financial tools, systems, and software relevant to microfinance or related industries.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g. CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a financial leadership role, preferably within the financial services or microfinance industry.
