Job Purpose:

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head Tailor to join their growing fashion team. The ideal candidate will lead the tailoring function and will be responsible for cutting, sewing, repairing, and altering garments while ensuring exceptional craftsmanship, neat finishing, and timely delivery. The Head Tailor will also play a key role in quality control, fabric handling, team coordination (where applicable), and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cut and sew fabrics accurately according to provided designs, patterns, and measurements.
  • Construct garments from scratch, ensuring high-quality workmanship and clean finishing.
  • Alter, repair, and adjust garments to achieve perfect fit, style, and comfort.
  • Ensure all garments meet brand standards in fit, precision, and finishing.
  • Oversee tailoring operations and ensure timely production of orders.
  • Maintain and operate sewing machines and tailoring tools, ensuring good working condition.
  • Inspect finished garments for accuracy, neatness, and quality consistency.
  • Advise clients on fabric options, fit improvements, and garment adjustments.
  • Interpret customer needs and translate them into well-executed garment outcomes.
  • Provide expert insights on stitching techniques, garment structure, and fit enhancements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tailoring working area.
  • Monitor fabric usage to minimize wastage and optimize production efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Head Tailor or Senior Tailor.
  • Strong expertise in cutting, stitching, repairing, and finishing garments to a professional standard.
  • Ability to design and tailor maxi dresses, jumpsuits, and two-piece outfits.
  • Skilled in working with different fabric types, including delicate and stretch fabrics.
  • Excellent attention to detail, measurement accuracy, and garment fitting skills.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
  • Reliable, honest, customer-focused, and committed to high-quality craftsmanship.
