We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Senior Accountant
to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and support the company's growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Conduct variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide management with timely financial insights for decision-making.
  • Accounting & Controls
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper reconciliations.
  • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and expense management.
  • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulations.
  • Implement and monitor internal financial controls.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Track performance against budgets and recommend corrective actions.
  • Tax & Compliance
  • Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, etc.) in compliance with KRA requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Treasury & Cash Flow Management
  • Monitor cash flow, manage bank relationships, and optimize working capital.
  • Support fundraising and investor reporting as required.
  • Team Leadership
  • Supervise junior accountants and finance staff.
  • Provide mentorship and training to ensure best accounting practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA (K) / ACCA qualification desired.
  • Minimum
    5–7 years
    of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role (preferably in real estate, construction, or investment sectors).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Kenyan tax laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or ERP systems).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
