Lead Specialist - Product
Job Scope
The Lead Specialist - Product is responsible for the commercial success of assigned products and for developing sound partnerships with existing and potential vendors while conducting regular forecasts. S/He works towards growing the business by proposing new potential deals, leading on projects and initiating marketing activities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the full product lifecycle from planning to execution, ensuring alignment with the company's broader commercial objectives and market trends;
- Work closely with the Sales Managers to map and develop the right channel for the product;
- Specify market requirements for current and future product(s) by conducting market research and analysis supported by on-going visits to potential and existing suppliers;
- Lead the vendors' relations in alignment with the company's strategy;
- Identify potential partners for the product(s);
- Lead the support for complex quotations and proposals, providing input to sales teams to improve win rates in competitive bids;
- Oversee product stock management, ensuring effective storage, accurate tracking, and optimal inventory levels to meet market demand;
- Develop and deliver accurate sales forecasts and market development reports in line with business objectives;
- Ensure the highest level of support and engagement with channel partners and respond in a timely manner with appropriate resources to meet customers' needs;
- Help build a solid channel/customer database;
- Maintain and increase sales for the entire product line to generate long term revenue and profitability;
- Act as a key ambassador for the product(s) and the company within the region, promoting brand presence, value propositions, and competitive strengths in industry forums and customer engagements.
Position Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales & Marketing, Engineering or any other related field
Experience
A technical background is preferred, with minimum 5 to 6 years of experience in a similar role.
Market knowledge and partner ecosystem experience in East Africa are mandatory.
Region coverage: Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Kenya.
Strong sales and partner engagement skills required.
Experience with any Broadcom products (Symantec, CA, VMware..) is considered relevant.
