Role Summary

We are seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial leader to anchor our consulting business in Africa. The Partner will be responsible for business growth, delivery oversight, team development, and market engagement across key themes such as livelihoods, climate, agriculture, gender, and blended finance. The role carries direct accountability for practice PCL, strategic partnerships, and cross-sector ecosystem influence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategic Direction

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Africa advisory practice.
  • Collaborate with the Director/Managing Director and other ecosystem/practice heads to align strategy and realize synergies with the overall company objective.
  • Create a roadmap for future growth and scale (of both business and impact).
  • Ensure team alignment on vision, strategy, and market developments through effective communication.
  • Lead agendas on growth and excellence, including business development, improving the value proposition, and forging new partnerships.
  • Institutionalize systems and process improvements as required.

Building Eminence

  • Conceptualize and develop thought-leading content for presentations and publications.
  • Represent the practice in domestic and international public forums.
  • Lead and foster innovation, entrepreneurship spirit, and thought leadership within the team.

Owning the PsL

  • Drive business development efforts for the practice through stakeholder outreach, business ideation, and pitch preparation.
  • Groom and support the team to achieve and exceed annual targets.

Developing the Team and Building Talent

  • Plan the practice's growth and map the competencies required to meet these goals.
  • Identify and fill key roles for the practice.
  • Design and drive effective performance management and reward systems for the practice.
  • Monitor the KPIs of key personnel and the practice.
  • Collaborate with HR on programs for people development and coaching future leaders.
  • Provide mentorship to teams on project approach, managing client expectations, and quality control.

Ideal Candidate Profile Experience s Education

  • 12–15 years of experience in management consulting, development finance, or impact advisory
  • Prior leadership of multicultural teams across geographies (Africa experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated engagement with clients such as USAID, GIZ, FCDO, World Bank, DFIs, and global foundations
  • MBA or master's from a top-tier institution in business, economics, public policy, or related field

Skills Competencies

  • Strong business acumen and sector fluency across climate, livelihoods, agriculture, and blended finance
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex programs, and deliver consistent results
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills (written C verbal)
  • Experience in thought leadership, ecosystem representation, and cross-sectoral influence
