Job Summary

The role of the Child Care Site Manager during the short term assignment will provide strategic management and leadership in support to the Victoria Kids Care (VKC) Board of Directors. The position will oversees the day-to-day activities at the DayCare Center, supervise curriculum and theme development, supervise VKC staff (
Lead/Kindergarten Teachers & Assistant Teachers, Janitor, Driver, & Cook)
, and maintains positive parent relationships.

Job Duties

Leadership Duties:

a.
Participate with VKC Board of Directors in developing the vision & strategic plan to guide the short term assignment.

b.
Identify, assess and inform the VKC Board of Directors of internal and external issues that affect the company.

c.
Provide weekly report to VKC Executive Director, and monthly reports to VKC Board of Directors.

d.
Identify and evaluate the risks to the company (clients, staff, management, volunteers, property, finance, goodwill and image) through implementation of measures to control risk.

e.
Oversee all security functions of VKC premises, staff, children, parents and visitors through office security responsibilities, such as evacuation, fire response, and lock down

2. Operational/Program/ Human Resource Planning and Management Duties:

a.
Ensure that the programs and services offered by the company contribute to the company mission and reflect the VKC Board of Directors priorities.

b.
Monitor the day-day delivery of the programs and services of the company to maintain or improve quality.

c.
Provide Human Resource management through staff supervision; participate in recruitment, orientation & onboarding; leave management; performance management of VKC staff including mentorship, coaching (performance improvement) and disciplinary action where appropriate in line with staff handbook.

d.
Submit direct and indirect monthly leave records and timesheets to VKC Board of Director on Finance and Administration for payroll processing.

e.
Design and propose structural & system changes to VKC Board of Director(s) to ensure efficient running of VKC in all aspects.

f.
Manage the school calendar and ensure timely and clear communication with parents, vendors, staff and VKC Board.

g.
Ensure VKC facilities and premises are clean, hygienic and well maintained at all times through proper coordination with VKC Board of Director of Finance & Administration on fixes and maintenance.

h.
Maintain an appropriate atmosphere of safety, learning, and fun, in line with Victoria Kids Care vision, mission, values and philosophy, and ensure the safety and good well-being of each individual child.

i.
With support from VKC Board of Director on Curriculum Development & Training, review, approve, and provide feedback to
Lead Teachers
on daycare theme quarterly plans, and preschool lesson plans, and oversee training of teachers and staff.

j.
In coordination with VKC Executive Director, plan and schedule holiday field trip and ad- hoc activities.

k.
Manage all extra curriculum vendors and activities at VKC.

l.
Review and approve VKC Newsletter and marketing plans/activities.

m.
Oversee the maintenance of all HR files for VKC staff, and confidential records of all children including archived documents/files.

3. Financial Planning & Management Duties:

a.
Work with VKC Board of Director assigned to Finance & Administration to prepare a comprehensive budget based on profit margins and determine expenditure levels.

b.
Ensure that sound book keeping and accounting procedures are followed and documented.

c.
Administer the funds of the company according to the approved to the approved budget and monitor the monthly cash flow of the organization.

d.
Provide the VKC Board of Director comprehensive monthly report and attend quarterly meetings to provide a progress report of VKC.

e.
Ensure all fees payments are made in a timely manner and appropriate follow up on overdue payments is done.

Job Requirements:

● Bachelor's Degree, or four years of paid work experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree required.

● Masters Degree preferred.

● Master Degree, Bachelors Degree, or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or Business Management strongly preferred.

● A valid First Aid & CPR certificate preferred.

● A valid Certificate of good conduct required.
