Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager - Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team at Caparol Paints Kenya. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our supply and apply projects, ensuring their successful completion within budget and on schedule. Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional service to our clients while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordination with Painters:
    Collaborate with painters to gather accurate measurements and samples for potential sites, ensuring a thorough understanding of project requirements.
  2. Quotation Preparation:
    Prepare detailed project quotations, considering labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs while maintaining competitiveness and profitability.
  3. Bill of Quantities (BOQ):
    Develop comprehensive project BOQs that outline all required materials, quantities, and specifications to facilitate accurate costing and procurement.
  4. Logistics Management:
    Arrange for timely deliveries of materials and equipment to project sites, ensuring that all necessary resources are available as scheduled.
  5. Manpower Allocation:
    Ensure that a sufficient number of skilled painters are assigned to each project site, coordinating with the human resources department as necessary.
  6. Waste Reduction:
    Implement efficient processes to minimize wastage of materials on project sites, monitoring and controlling resource usage to reduce unnecessary costs.
  7. Stock Control:
    Conduct regular stock takes on project sites to maintain accurate inventory records, identifying shortages or surpluses and taking appropriate actions.
  8. Cost Management:
    Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, identify cost-saving opportunities, and work to keep projects within budget.
  9. Quality Assurance:
    Maintain the highest quality standards by conducting regular inspections and quality checks on paintwork, ensuring it meets both client expectations and industry standards.
  10. Client Communication:
    Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  11. Project Documentation:
    Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and project reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management and quantity surveying within the painting industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Valid driver's license
