The School Liaison Officer will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with secondary schools, A-Level institutions, colleges, and universities across East Africa. This role involves extensive travel, conducting school and campus visits, and engaging with school proprietors, principals, career counsellors, and student leaders to generate quality leads for study abroad programs.
The successful candidate will also support the marketing, recruitment, and partnerships teams to enhance the agency's visibility, strengthen institutional relationships, and achieve student enrolment targets.

Main activities and responsibilities
1.School & Institutional Engagement and Relationship Management
- Identify and build relationships with secondary schools, A-Level institutions, technical colleges, and universities across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and other East African countries.
- Schedule and conduct school and campus visits, seminars, open days, and presentations to students, parents, and academic staff about studying abroad.
- Develop partnerships and maintain long-term relationships with school proprietors, principals, career counsellors, and higher education administrators.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of partner institutions and key contacts, ensuring consistent engagement and timely follow-ups.
2. School & Institutional Partnerships and Student Recruitment
- Generate prospective student leads through school and college engagements, education fairs, open days, career weeks, and assemblies.
- Collaborate with marketing and the sales team to achieve student enrolment and conversion targets.
- Identify potential institutional collaborations such as MOUs, joint events, or scholarship opportunities.
- Provide insights on academic calendars, institutional trends, and partnership opportunities to support strategic planning.
- Build relationships that foster mutual benefits between partner institutions and Schools.
3. Marketing & Outreach
- Represent the organization professionally at education fairs, school expos, campus events, and other outreach programs.
- Distribute promotional materials (brochures, flyers, banners) during institutional visits and events.
- Work with the marketing team to plan and execute campaigns, including social media and virtual presentations targeting schools and colleges.
- Assist in producing case studies, testimonials, and success stories from school and institutional partnerships.
4. Reporting & Data Management
- Prepare regular reports on institutional visits, engagement outcomes, and recruitment performance.
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach activities and recommend improvements.
- Manage and update CRM systems or Excel databases with accurate contact and lead information.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as the number of visits, partnerships established and leads converted.
5. Student Counselling Support
· Provide initial guidance to prospective students and parents on study abroad options, admission timelines, and documentation requirements.
· Collaborate with admissions, marketing, and visa teams to ensure seamless student journeys from lead generation to enrolment.
6. Additional Responsibilities
- Support in organizing and hosting webinars, parent sessions, and open days for students and institutions.
- Conduct follow-up calls or emails with interested students and parents.
- Assist in onboarding and training new interns or representatives within the liaison team.
- Provide feedback from institutions to help refine the agency's services, communication materials, and marketing strategies.
Additional Key Requirements:
· Strong knowledge of the education systems and study opportunities in Australia, US, UK, Canada, or Europe, including admission requirements, visa processes, and scholarship options.
· Familiarity with relevant educational institutions, courses, and programs in the target study destinations.
· Proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating successful outcomes in the field of overseas study consulting.
· Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for customer relationship management and data tracking.
· Cultural sensitivity and the ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
· Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in overseas study consulting.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide tailored solutions to meet individual student needs.
· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate and thorough documentation of client interactions and applications.
· Commitment to continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of changes in the industry.
· Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate client needs and participate in promotional events.
· Adherence to ethical standards and compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines in the field of overseas study consulting.
Person Specification
Bachelor's degree in Education, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in education consultancy, student recruitment, or institutional engagement.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with schools and higher education institutions.
Willingness to travel frequently within Kenya and the wider East African region.
Organized, self-driven, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
Knowledge of international study destinations (UK, Canada, Australia, US, etc.) is an added advantage.
Display professionalism and efficiency in business communication, both in English, Swahili

Special requirements
Able to undertake duties at different premises. Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours to effectively support the company's operations and events.
Travel may be required in order to attend conferences, events, new projects and effectively represent the Company in key networks.
