East Africa In-Country Assistant (Kenya)
USW International is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive East Africa In-Country Assistant to join the busy and dynamic International Recruitment team. Reporting to the In Country Manager for East Africa, you will play a key strategic role in developing and implementing the University's international marketing and recruitment strategy for the region.
In-Country Assistants at USW are regional specialists for international student recruitment. They support a network of recruitment agents, academic partners, school counsellors, sponsors and other key stakeholders and work face to face with potential students to maximise the University's recruitment potential. They have an in-depth knowledge of the education systems in the region which they use to support the development and delivery of segmented marketing strategies and specific regional market plans to meet the University's international student recruitment targets.
The anticipated market responsibility for this particular vacancy will be Kenya, with a scope to actively support recruitment activities in neighbouring countries (but this may vary depending on business needs and individual skillsets).
In addition, the post-holder will play a role in supporting conversion of applications from the region into enrolments and will be required to input into social media and digital advertising campaigns to support recruitment efforts.
There is therefore a strong liaison element to this role, which requires advanced negotiation skills. You will be a graduate and a self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail and understanding of other cultures. You will be able to deal with multiple demands concurrently and be able to prioritise your work independently and efficiently. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to maintain productive relationships and provide creative, innovative and competitive ways of securing international enrolments for the University.
You will be willing to work evenings and weekends as required and to support international recruitment activities for all USW sites.
You will appreciate the opportunity to work in a positive and 'can do' team with high productivity and an excellent reputation for service quality.
This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
