REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a strategic marketing/communications role with managerial responsibility. 
  • A compelling portfolio demonstrating success in brand management, content creation and written communications. 
  • Advanced proficiency in digital marketing, including social media. 
  • High competency in content creation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and video editing software. 
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail  
  • Strong project management and ability to handle multiple priorities  
  • Experience in an educational institution, non-profit, or an international network is a distinct advantage. 
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability and excellent stakeholder management. 

Role Summary 

We are seeking a dynamic Marketing & Communications Officer to lead strategic marketing and communications initiatives that strengthen our brand, drive student enrolment and engage stakeholders in alignment with the global AKS and AKDN vision. 

Key Responsibilities  

The successful candidate will work closely with the AKS Head Office communications department, ensuring all communications align with the global brand and style guidelines of AKDN and AKS and effectively promote the organisation's mission and values. The successful candidate will be directly accountable for the following: 

Strategic Marketing & Brand Leadership: 

  • Design and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategies to enhance brand visibility and student recruitment. 
  • Lead multi-channel marketing campaigns; from digital presence and print media to outreach events to boost engagement and enrolment 
  • Manage budgets and analyse campaign performance for optimal ROI 

Content Creation & Digital Media: 

  • Oversee digital platforms and social media ensuring consistent, compelling content. 
  • Develop high-quality marketing materials including brochures, newsletters and success stories. 
  • ​​​​​​​Collaborate with school teams to produce engaging visual content (photos, videos) showcasing school life. 

Stakeholder Engagement & Public Relations: 

  • Build strong relationships with parents, students, staff and the wider community through events and communication. 
  • Support the CEO and Senior Leadership Team on strategic communications initiatives.
