Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development, implementation, and review of policies, strategies, legislations, guidelines, frameworks, norms, tools, regulations, plans, and standards on pathology and forensic services
- Lead capacity building for ministries, departments, counties, and other government agencies on pathology and forensic services
- Supervise the provision of technical support to ministries, departments, counties, and other government agencies on pathology and forensic services
- Coordinate health surveys and monitor health trends for pathology and forensic services
- Initiate and coordinate the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects and programmes for pathology and forensic services
- Collaborate and establish linkages with relevant stakeholders for pathology and forensic services
- Provide guidance in determining pathology and forensic services related data variables
- Coordinate the dissemination of national pathology and forensic services related data, reports, and knowledge information in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
- Coordinate health research, innovation, and maintain a repository for pathology and forensic services in collaboration with the relevant directorate
- Provide guidance in identifying health resource gaps, priorities, and mobilization of resources for pathology and forensic services
- Initiate and oversee projects and programmes for health-related infrastructure, health products, and technologies for pathology and forensic services
- Facilitate the provision of forensic services during mass casualty disasters and response to crime scenes in collaboration with relevant agencies and directorates
- Liaise with stakeholders to design and develop regional centers of excellence for specialized pathology and forensic services
- Lead Business Process Re-engineering in pathology and forensic services
- Review client satisfaction surveys on services offered for pathology and forensic services
Requirements:
- Serve for a minimum period of three years at the grade of Deputy Director- Medical Services CSG '6' or in a similar and relevant position in the wider Public Service
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery or equivalent qualification from a recognized university in Kenya
- Possess a Master's Degree in disciplines such as Pathology, Forensic Medicine, or equivalent from a recognized university in Kenya
- Registration and licensing by a recognized regulatory body
- Demonstrate managerial, administrative, and professional competencies in work performance and results
