Job Description

As an East Africa Integrity Counsel, you will be a strategic partner to our business teams, providing expert advice on integrity risks and reputational concerns. Your role will involve evaluating and mitigating risks associated with our clients, partners, transactions, and new products/initiatives in the East Africa region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective strategies to mitigate integrity risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Provide expert advice to business teams on international anti-corruption/bribery laws, economic sanctions, and other integrity-related matters.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to develop and execute training plans for client departments and IFC Management, raising awareness on integrity risk issues.
• Present on integrity matters at conferences and meetings, showcasing expertise and building relationships with stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A Juris Doctorate (JD), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), or equivalent degree.
• At least 8 years of experience in providing advice on international business transactions, project finance, investment funds, or litigation, including experience advising on business integrity-related matters.
• Law firm experience is a plus.
• Prior experience working in East Africa or similar regions, with a deep understanding of the local business environment and regulatory landscape.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently, and represent IFC with clients and stakeholders effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work under time pressure and respond to shifts in client priorities while ensuring delivery.
• Highly developed technical skills, solid judgment, and digital dexterity.
