Environmental Governance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Governance Specialist to join our team at OCHA in Nairobi, Kenya.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic environmental governance initiatives to promote collaboration with MEAs and other UN system entities.
- Organize and prepare written outputs, including background papers, analysis, and reports for governing bodies of UNEP.
- Facilitate dialogue and cooperation among Member States and stakeholders on environmental governance for policy coherence.
- Develop practical tools and approaches to support Member States in effective implementation of environmental policies and commitments.
- Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in environmental law, environmental policy, international relations, environmental economics, or related area.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management in the field of environment.
- Demonstrated professional working experience related to environmental governance or multilateral environmental agreements at the international and national level.
- Experience with the UN system or other similar international organizations.
The estimated salary for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
