Development Liaison Specialist for UN-WB Partnership

This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of the strategic and operational partnership between the United Nations (UN) and the World Bank in Somalia.
The successful candidate will support the alignment, coherence, and complementarity of country engagement frameworks between the Federal Government of Somalia, the UN, and the World Bank. The position requires expertise in partnership management, risk management, and knowledge management, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.
About the Role
The Development Liaison Specialist will work closely with UN and World Bank leadership to advance the partnership, provide advisory support on transition arrangements, and promote collaboration and innovation between the two organizations. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic and operational partnership services
- Advancing the strategic and operational partnership in a post-HIPC environment
- Facilitating regular discussions between UN-WB leadership on the partnership at country level
- Producing analytical products and updates on operational UN-WB partnership
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Advanced university degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Economics or related disciplines
- Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience with bilateral or multilateral organisations dealing with issues related to humanitarian, development and peace in fragile contexts
- Field experience in thematic advice and support to country management and operations on analysis and strategic planning across humanitarian, development and peace action in fragile and preferably UN mission contexts
Competencies
The ideal candidate will possess strong partnership management skills, including ability to capture and sustain attention, interest and agreement of high-level policy and decision makers. They should also demonstrate expertise in business direction and strategy, specifically in systems thinking and partnerships management. Additionally, they will need to have effective communication skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both through written and verbal communication.

We offer a competitive salary range of $ $98,395 - $132,995 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
