We are seeking a passionate and dynamic
Technical Sales Agronomist & Account Manager
to drive adoption of our biochar-based products, build strong relationships with customers, and provide agronomic expertise to farmers, distributors, and institutional partners. This role is focussed on large scale farms and other large offtakers. Experience selling to these customers is essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Account Management
- Identify and pursue new and robust customer pipeline of commercial farms for biochar and biochar-based organic fertilizers, ensuring consistent and sustainable revenue growth.
- Manage existing customer accounts, ensuring strong relationships and repeat business.
- Use CRM tools to track leads, opportunities, and customer interactions, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Develop and execute sales plans to achieve set targets.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and product supply agreements with clients, distributors and partners.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders at large farms, understanding their needs and challenges.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing tailored solutions to maximize their farming efficiency and sustainability.
2. Technical Agronomic Support
- Provide agronomic advice and technical support large scale farmers, agribusinesses and partners on the effective use of biochar and biochar based organic fertilizers.
- Conduct on-farm demonstrations, field trials, and training sessions to showcase product performance.
- Translate technical product knowledge into practical solutions tailored to client needs.
3. Market Development & Extension
- Build partnerships with agricultural input dealers, NGOs, and government agencies.
- Represent Bio-Logical at agricultural fairs, field days, and industry events.
- Collect market intelligence and customer feedback to inform product development and strategy.
- Provide insights to inform sales strategies and the development of new products or services.
- Build and manage a pipeline of potential customers and Trials.
4. Reporting & Collaboration
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and account updates.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to share insights on product performance in different soils and cropping systems.
- Work with the marketing team to support campaigns, promotional activities, and educational content.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, Agricultural Economics, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in agricultural input sales, agronomy, or technical advisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of soil health, organic fertilizers, and biochar is an added advantage.
- Proven track record in sales growth and account management.
- Ability to translate scientific knowledge into farmer-friendly recommendations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
- Willingness to travel extensively within assigned regions.
