Role Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Services Executive to join our team in Mombasa. Reporting directly to the Customer Service Supervisor, the main responsibilities of this position will include coordination and liaison with overseas partners, shipping lines, clients and the relevant sales executive in order to ensure that clients and overseas partners are updated with the status of their shipments on a timely manner by way of sending the routing orders, nominations and closing the files on time.

The main purpose of the job is geared towards maximising profitability and customer satisfaction for the relevant sales executive. To assist customers in their purchasing decisions by providing detailed information along with freight options and pricing. In addition, will provide all on-going follow-up necessary to close the sale. Management of specific customer(s) within a region through daily communication and solicitation to generate freight and future business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordination - Communicating effectively with principal, customers along with the Sales Executive on a timely and accurate manner in order to ensure smooth delivery of services.
  • Customer Satisfaction - Providing solutions to customers and aligning internal processes in order to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Respond to all incoming calls from customers who require information on our services. This information includes, but is not limited to pricing information (quotations), and product information.
  • Prepare & send Import quotations to all customer & partner inquiries in a timely manner. Effectively articulate product information, features, and benefits, e.g. Rate Enquiries, Request for Quotations (RFQ's) etc.
  • Effectively communicate with principal & POL offices as well as internal departments, Operations etc. Develop and maintain a professional working partnership with assigned customers and maintain a clear understanding of the customers changing industry and business needs.
  • Monitor and manage commitments ensuring on timely delivery of shipments, and proactive communication is achieved with potential service situations.
  • Communicate with Customer Service Supervisor on any customer issues such as late deliveries, detention or other problems that may occur.
  • Participate in Customer Service and Sales meetings.

Who You Are:

  • Degree or Diploma from any recognized university.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of industry experience.
  • Good communication and PC skills.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of geographic locations and the ability to calculate time and distance for these locations. Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Demonstrate above average organizational skills to effectively handle multiple priorities with short deadlines.
  • Shipping Agency Experience is desirable but not essential
