About Kwendo

Kwendo is building the financial operating system for Africa's $600B+ informal economy. We help businesses protect their revenue while opening access to credit, savings, and insurance for millions of casual workers. We started with car washes, construction sites, and logistics firms; industries where work is output-based, wages are irregular, and payroll is messy.

Why this role matters

Customer acquisition today is founder-driven. To scale, we need a Growth & Partnerships Lead who can build and execute our playbook; owning sales, partnerships, and expansion into new industries and geographies. This is one of the most critical early hires at Kwendo.

What you'll do

  • Own customer acquisition end-to-end, from outreach to closing deals.
  • Build relationships with business owners in our wedge industries: car washes, logistics, and construction SMEs in Nairobi.
  • Shape and test growth strategies (direct sales, partnerships, referral programs, etc.).
  • Work closely with the product team to ensure our micro-apps solve real customer pain.
  • Track performance metrics and continuously improve our acquisition funnel.
  • Represent Kwendo in the market as we expand into new verticals and geographies.

Who you are

  • 3-6 years experience in B2B sales, partnerships, or growth (FinTech, SaaS, or MSME-focused a plus).
  • Entrepreneurial: comfortable with ambiguity, bias to action, and ready to build from scratch.
  • Excellent communicator who can build trust with small business owners and industry leaders alike.
  • Data-driven but also street-smart; equally at home with a spreadsheet or at a car wash site.
  • Hungry to grow: you see this role as a stepping stone to leadership.

Career Growth

This role is designed to grow into 
Head of Growth
 or 
Country Lead
 within 12-18 months, as we raise funding and scale across markets.
