Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and personable Shop Assistant & Factory Tour Guide to join our team. This entry-level role combines retail customer service with hosting guided tours of our factory. The ideal candidate is warm, engaging, and passionate about Kenyan craft and storytelling, with the ability to create memorable experiences for both shoppers and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

1.     In-store (Shop Assistant):

·      Welcome and assist customers in the retail shop.

·      Provide product knowledge and support customers in making purchase decisions.

·      Maintain shop displays, cleanliness, and stock levels.

·      Process sales transactions and handle customer queries.

2.     Factory Tour Guide:

·      Lead visitors through the Sandstorm factory, explaining the production process, craftsmanship, and brand story.

·      Engage guests with accurate, clear, and passionate storytelling.

·      Answer questions and ensure visitors have an informative and enjoyable experience.

·      Support the promotion of Sandstorm's values of ethical production and Kenyan artistry.

3.     Other Duties:

·      Assist with events, special visits, and corporate guest experiences.

·      Gather visitor feedback to improve the tour experience.

·      Work closely with the retail and production teams to stay updated on products and processes.

Qualifications & Skills

Diploma or certificate in sales, hospitality, tourism, or related field (preferred but not required).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Confident public speaking and storytelling abilities.

Customer service or retail experience is an advantage.

Enthusiastic, friendly, and approachable personality.

Passion for Kenyan craft, culture, and design.

Flexible to work weekends and public holidays.
