Job Summary

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for planning, sourcing, and managing the purchase of goods and services that support the NFC company's savings and loans operations. This includes vendor management, contract negotiation, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and optimizing costs while maintaining quality standards. The role requires strong analytical skills, financial prudence, and a deep understanding of the cooperative's operational and regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and implement the company's procurement strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Prepare annual procurement plans and ensure timely execution to support operational efficiency.
  • Forecast procurement needs based on business projections and budgetary allocations.

Vendor & Supplier Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to achieve best value for money.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods/services.

Purchasing & Cost Control

  • Oversee end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, bidding, evaluation, and selection.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply risks to optimize costs.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procurement transactions for audits and reporting.
  • Mitigate procurement-related risks through robust contract terms and supplier performance monitoring.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare regular procurement reports for management, including spend analysis and vendor performance reviews.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in procurement processes.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within financial services, cooperatives, or savings and loans institutions.
  • Proven track record in vendor negotiation and cost management.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations relevant to cooperative institutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of integrity and accountability.
