JOB SUMMARY
JOB DESCRIPTION: To ensure all sections are optimally stocked, merchandise properly displayed, handle all customers queries and customer related complaints, charge customers as necessary, safeguard the money and prepare it for banking.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties and responsibilitiesRunning the cash register and ensuring the proper check-out process is followed.Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the work-station by dusting, washing, polishing and straightening the merchandise.Arranging the work-station in a manner that attracts the attention of customers.Greeting customers and offering them assistance.Becoming familiar with the products and share this knowledge with customers.Answering questions from and providing information to customers about products.Preparing sales reports on a daily basis.Being available to work shifts.Participating in workplace safety training sessions.Also responsible for all cash and stock issued to you, whereby all cash collected must be cleared, accounted for and banked by the end of the day.Any other duties as may be assigned to you by your seniors from time to time.PERSON SPECIFICATIONSAcademic QualificationsKCSE 'O' LevelDiploma in Sales and Marketing or a similar field will be an added advantage.Experience Requirement At least 2 years' work experience as a sales person in retail.Prior experience in a similar position would be added advantage.Skills and Competencies:Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practicesProficiency in English & Customer service focusTrack record of achieving sales targets.Solid communication and interpersonal skillsFriendly, helpful, confident and engaging personalityAbility to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectivelyCompetency using Microsoft Office, the internet, general use of personal computerAbility to work both independently and within a team environment
