About the Role

The Strategic Programme Implementation Specialist will be responsible for providing strategic support to programme implementation, including administrative and procedural issues related to programme/project and budget formulation, implementation, monitoring and reporting. The successful candidate will have strong analytical and evaluative skills, with the ability to identify issues, formulate opinions, make conclusions and recommendations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide inputs on administrative and procedural issues related to programme/project and budget formulation, implementation, monitoring and reporting;
  • Coordinate with donor representatives, project staff and other partners on financial and administrative matters related to programme and project development;
  • Draft agreements with partners as part of the support provided to the programmes;
  • Administer implementing partners, including planning, budgeting, selection, capacity assessments, review of agreements of cooperation, reporting, performance evaluation, monitoring the implementation audit observations, and closing;
  • Contribute to the development of policies, guidelines, operating procedures and systems to improve business processes for programme and project delivery;
  • Undertake missions, as and when deemed necessary, to assess the financial and administrative management of projects and programmes;
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in administration, finance, accounting, human resources management or related field. You should also have strong conceptual analytical and evaluative skills, with the ability to conduct independent research and analysis.

You must have fluency in English and knowledge of another United Nations official language is desirable. Additionally, you should be able to provide clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies, identify priority activities and assignments, and allocate appropriate amount of time and resources for completing work.
