We are seeking a highly experienced Country Manager to lead our office in Kigali, Rwanda. This strategic role involves overseeing research projects, leading and mentoring research teams, and contributing to corporate strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Office Operations: Contribute to corporate strategy, oversee process improvements, and manage financial and personnel operations.
  • Research Project Pipeline: Develop and manage a pipeline of research projects, turning internal ideas into externally funded initiatives and designing evaluations for clients.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with clients and government officials, fostering strong communication and collaboration.
  • Team Development: Support and develop research teams, providing coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance their research and management skills.
  • Culture Promotion: Maintain and promote our office culture, ensuring a friendly, collaborative atmosphere combined with high standards and a desire for innovation and learning.
  • Growth Opportunities: Identify and pursue opportunities for growth and innovation, both technically and business-wise.
Technical Leadership
  • Program Evaluation Design: Provide technical leadership in program and impact evaluation design, including regression discontinuity design, matching methods, and matched cluster randomized control trials.
  • Data Analysis: Lead data analysis and modeling efforts, ensuring the application of strong quantitative data analysis skills.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree: Hold a degree in Economics, Econometrics, Development Research, or one of our core sectors; an MBA is a plus.
  • Experience: Possess 6 years of experience managing complex research projects, growing research pipelines, and leading research teams.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrate strong leadership skills, with experience managing a team of 10-20 people.
  • Quantitative Skills: Show proficiency in Stata and strong quantitative data analysis skills.
  • Communication Skills: Possess strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Cultural Experience: Have experience living and working in different cultural settings.
  • Motivation: Be motivated to work in social and economic research in Sub-Saharan Africa.
