Role Overview
This role involves driving client acquisition and growth through both digital and conventional business development initiatives. The officer will position the company as the leading ethical and technology-driven debt recovery and customer experience partner in Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and Implement Business Development Strategies
Create and execute client acquisition and retention plans aligned to target sectors (banks, MFIs, SACCOs, telcos, healthcare, insurance, utilities, government).
- Identify potential high-value clients and craft tailored pitches to win contracts.
Monitor and achieve monthly/quarterly revenue targets.
Digital Marketing and Online Growth
Manage the firm's digital presence: website optimization, SEO, and analytics.
- Oversee social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook) to build corporate visibility.
- Create engaging content: blogs, newsletters, email campaigns, and case studies.
Run targeted LinkedIn ads to reach CFOs, Credit Managers, and Risk Heads.
Conventional Marketing and Client Outreach
Develop partnerships with industry associations, chambers of commerce, SACCO networks, and professional bodies.
- Organize client engagement forums, breakfast briefings, and workshops showcasing our expertise.
Prepare and distribute brochures, corporate profiles, and pitch decks to prospects.
Client Relationship Management
Build and nurture strong relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business and referrals.
- Conduct quarterly client satisfaction surveys and ensure service improvements are acted upon.
Work closely with operations teams to ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations.
Market Research and Competitive Analysis
Track market trends, regulatory updates (CBK, Data Protection, etc.), and competitor activities.
- Provide regular market intelligence reports to management with actionable insights.
Identify tender opportunities and coordinate the preparation of winning bids.
Leadership and Collaboration
Lead cross-departmental business development efforts.
- Mentor junior staff in sales, presentation, and client handling skills.
- Align BD initiatives with the firm's strategic goal of becoming the market leader in Kenya.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Development, Communications, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in business development, preferably in financial services, debt recovery,
- Proven ability to close high-value contracts with corporates and institutions.
- Excellent negotiation, networking, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, SEO, LinkedIn Ads, CRM).
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking.
- Confident, professional demeanor with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of the banking, microfinance, SACCO, telecom, and government debt ecosystems is an advantage.
