PATH seeks a Finance Officer to support the management of project finances, human resources, operations, and logistics in a fast-paced international environment.

The Finance Officer will report to the Finance and Grants Manager and be responsible for ensuring compliance with USAID and PATH policies, practices, and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, and project management, with experience in developing, monitoring, and reporting on complex budgets.

The Finance Officer will also be responsible for analyzing project expenses, preparing financial projections, and coordinating the annual work plan and budgeting process.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor budgets and provide updates on spending against project budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with USAID and PATH policies, practices, and regulations.
  • Analyze project expenses and prepare financial projections.
  • Coordinate the annual work plan and budgeting process.
  • Support procurement of in-country commodities and project equipment.
  • Process and review payment vouchers and mobile money payments.
  • Track outstanding advances and follow up to ensure clearance.
  • Respond to suppliers' inquiries and reconcile statements.
  • Carry out monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Support property and asset management.
  • Support procurement processes in Business World.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or business-related field.
  • Full CPA-K qualification.
  • Minimum of three years in an administrative and financial management position in an international organization.
  • Experience in developing, monitoring, and reporting on complex budgets.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable USAID rules and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Ms Office applications, including word and excel, hands-on work experience with Business World, Salesforce, and Power BI.
  • Experience in managing project funds, preparation of bank reconciliations, financial statements, and financial reporting and data analysis, auditing, and taxation.
  • Able to work as part of a team and build strong working relationships.
  • Excellent attention to detail, sound planning and organizational skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical approach to work and strong time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong work ethic, resourcefulness, integrity, credibility, and dedication to PATH's mission.
  • Professional proficiency in English required.
