We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Programme Management Officer to join our Performance Monitoring and Reporting (PMR) Unit. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring that our programs are aligned with our strategic goals and that we are achieving maximum impact.
About the Role
The Strategic Programme Management Officer will be responsible for coordinating the monitoring and reporting process of our portfolio of initiatives. This will involve working closely with teams across the organization to ensure that data is accurate, complete, and meets the needs of different stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in program management, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement, as well as excellent communication and project coordination skills.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate the monitoring and reporting process of the portfolio of UNEP initiatives.
- Provide quality assurance of data reported, identify issues requiring attention in the design and implementation of the portfolio, and propose actions to improve internal business processes and delivery of results.
- Coordinate teams across the organization to ensure UNEP's data reported meets the needs of different audiences.
- Lead the preparation of the Quarterly Report of the UNEP Executive Director and the annual UNEP Programme Performance Report.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in programme/project management in environment or development-oriented work.
- Experience in drafting and editing official reports in English.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data in support of decision-making and convey resulting information to management.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
